DOCTORATE

The School of Medicine of Jundiaí (FMJ) strongly participates in the public health activities for Jundiaí, contributing to the social, economic, political and health organization and development of the region. DOCTORATE

Objectives: To train teachers and researcher with broad knowledge of their field that will qualify them to execute integrated activities of teaching, research and extension, with a focus on the main areas investigating the health-disease process.

Target Population: Professionals with a graduate degree in health who seek constant refreshing and improvement in their field of expertise, with vocation for teaching and research.

OBSERVATIONS: Students who hold a Master’s degree from a national program recognized by CAPES can register for the doctorate. The doctoral degree involves a written thesis, which must be defended before a dissertation committee composed of five members, including the supervisor of the doctoral student. Under these conditions, the completion of the doctoral degree also depends on obtaining at least 30 credits. The maximum time for completing the doctorate is 4 years from the date of enrollment. Within this period, in addition to the aforementioned credits, the student must take the Qualifying Exam and deposit his/her thesis, awaiting the defense. The doctoral degree will be awarded only after the requisites of the courses are met and the thesis is approved by the dissertation committee.
